The university has opened an online form where members of the university community can submit ideas for a new tagline.
“Once we have a refined list of the strongest possibilities we plan to develop some examples of how they could be used in design and messaging,” Mark Anderson, director of Marketing, said. “We will utilize focus groups of incoming students and surveys to all faculty, staff, students and alumni to build quantitative data to go with our qualitative assessment.”

Anderson says that the tagline should be short and inspirational, as well as unique to Wright State and hard to twist in a negative light.
“Most university taglines are not very specific to that university and could be interchangeable. We would like to differentiate ourselves from other universities,” Anderson said.
So far, there have been over 300 submissions on the web form. Anderson says that it’s vital to develop a relatable tagline and that the university needs the public’s help to ensure that happens.
“No one understands or knows us better than our own constituents.”
The deadline to submit an idea is today, July 22.
