77-year-old motorcyclist serious after wreck with tractor

MORROW — A 77-year-old man is in serious condition following an accident involving a motorcycle and tractor Wednesday night.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Salem Road and Ohio 3 at approximately 5:50 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Donald Stotler, 77, of Mason, was operating a 1981 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck the rear of a tractor operated by Ronald Flint, 70, of Clarksville, Ohio, said Lt. Mike Sanders.

Both vehicles were traveling northeast on Ohio 3 at the time of the accident, but Stotler was not wearing his helmet when he struck the rear of the tractor, Sanders said.

His son, who was following behind in a motorcycle, managed to move around the tractor but Stotler failed to do so. Stotler was flown to Miami Valley Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

Flint was pulling a large Bush Hog mower, Sanders said.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the accident, which remains under investigation, Sanders said.
