A caller to 9-1-1 reported that a girl, 7, had been shot at a residence in the 3200 block of West Riverview Avenue, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

The call from a woman who identified herself as the child's aunt said the child was being taken to Miami Valley Hospital in an SUV. The call came from a vehicle that was following the one the child was in, according to dispatch notes.

WHIO-TV requested from regional dispatch and was given copies of the calls to 9-1-1 operators.

“Oh My God!” the woman sobs in the phone call to a county 9-1-1 dispatcher.

“They just shot my niece! She’s seven years old! Oh My God!” the woman said.

She is too distraught to tell the dispatcher her location.

Someone can be heard in the background, urging the child be taken to a hospital because there is blood.

A second caller to 9-1-1 told the operator the child was hit by gunfire that came from a passing car. The second caller described the car as a green Ford Focus or Dodge Neon that had 30-day tags.

She said the car continued east along West Riverview Avenue toward Philadelphia Drive.

According to regional dispatch, the child was last seen conscious and breathing on the way to the hospital. Her  condition was not known Tuesday night.

We're working to learn more about the child and the circumstances of the shooting. We will update this developing report as we learn more.
