Yellow Springs has canceled its 4th of July parade a day after announcing that it was still on and that the theme was Black Lives Matter.

Organizers decided to cancel the parade due to coronavirus, Mike Miller told the Dayton Daily News.

In a Facebook post no longer appearing on Yellow Springs’ page, the village would be hosted by the Miami Twp. Fire Department and the HUMAN Project and that the theme would be Black Lives Matter.

People were encouraged to wear face masks and stay physically distant from others and to make displays and/or signs that reflect Yellow Springs’ values.

The parade was scheduled to begin lining up at 1 p.m. near the Friends Care Community, with the parade stepping off at 2 p.m.
