Berberich was appointed associate provost at WSU in 2013 and has also served as a professor of biochemistry and molecular biology. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and his doctorate in biomedical science from Wright State.

He also established Wright State’s Center for Genomics Research and worked on the university’s “Wright Leader Academy” which increased faculty development opportunities on campus, according to WSU.
