Ohio State Parks Officer Daniel Cox said, "They have many special rules here, but one thing never changed. You have to wear clothes at the beach."
Despite the good weather, park rangers said it only took one man a few minutes to clear the beach on Monday. "They were leaving because someone at the beach had not nearly enough clothing on," said Cox.
Actually, the man was wearing nothing at all.
Authorities at Hueston Woods said park-goers spotted Nathan Mackie, 35, sunbathing nude. "They described it as he was standing up displaying for all to see," Cox said.
Miranda Ontko of Oxford said, "That's really awkward. I wouldn't want to see that, see that either."
Authorities said too many people had to see it, including some parents with children who visit the park often.
Visitors started calling park rangers for help. Cox said, "At that time he was observed wearing flip flops and jeans and we're thankful for that."
However, officials said Mackie took off running for the trees when he saw the park ranger. Cox was able to track him down in the woods and make an arrest.
Once he was in handcuffs, Mackie said he thought his spot on the beach was private enough.
Miranda Ontko doesn't agree. "It's just something shocking that you don't expect to come here and see that," she said.
