Man arrested in Trotwood on preliminary murder charge

Taylor was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of murder and a parole violation. He is being held in jail without bond, according to records.

Police arrested a man on a preliminary murder charge at a Trotwood apartment Monday morning.

Ronald G. Taylor, 32, was taken into custody in the 5500 block of Autumn Woods Drive, according to jail booking records.

He was booked on a murder complaint and parole violation but has not been formally charged at this time.

Taylor was arrested in connection to a Dayton police investigation, according to Trotwood police.

When reached for comment, Dayton police released a statement:

“A person of interest has been booked in relation to the shooting at 4125 W. Third Street. The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office will be consulted in regards to formal charges.”

Dayton police have been investigating the shooting since it took place Dec. 15 at a gas station. Adam Whited, 42, died at Miami Valley Hospital following the shooting, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.
