The city of Miamisburg has rejected a fact-finder’s report in a contract dispute with its largest union.

The recommendations and report involving the city’s dealings with the Teamsters Local 957 were shot down 6-0 by Miamisburg City Council with Mike McCabe absent from Friday’s vote.

Local 957, the collective bargaining unit for Miamisburg workers not associated with the police department, is the city’s largest union with 31 members, records show.

Its three-year contract with the city expired Dec. 31, records show.

The city declined to comment on the issue, as did fact-finder Christopher E. Miles of Pennsylvania. Attempts to reach union officials have been unsuccessful.

The city’s contracts with its two police unions — which records show represent 33 employees combined — began Jan. 1. The patrol officers’ union deal expires at the end of 2018 and the sergeants’ agreement at the end of 2019.
