Miamisburg Mayor Dick Church Jr.’s likeness is on a bobblehead. Now, it’s been captured on a bust.

Church was honored – and surprised — with the sculpture this past weekend for his decades of service to the city and his efforts in heading Miamisburg’s bicentennial celebration, the centerpiece of which was an eight-day festival that ended Saturday.

The bust was the idea of retired Miamisburg Law Director Bill Forbes, who had served with Church after the longtime mayor was first elected to the post in the early 1990s, according to the city.

The bust, which was financed by private funds, will permanently be displayed in city council chambers at the Miamisburg Civic Center, according to the city.

Earlier this year, Church’s likeness was put on a bobblehead that was sold to help raise funds for the bicentennial celebration.
