Major winter storm affecting the Miami Valley.

Dayton has set a new record for snowfall on Feb. 15, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The NWS reported that a total of 5.9 inches of snow was reported at the Dayton International Airport on Monday.

Previously the record for snow on Feb. 15 in Dayton was 4.3 inches, which was set in 2003.

Based on NWS forecasts for weather today, we are unlikely to break records for Feb. 16. The record for snowfall on Feb. 16 is 7.8 inches, which fell in 1910.
