She was included in The Hill's annual list of the 50 Most Beautiful People on Capitol Hill, where she described herself as a "proud Ohioan."
Mourad, 46, told The Hill that “salad and Diet Coke” are her “lifelines.”
“I don’t like to feel like I have to work out,” she told the publication. “I like to just go out and be active.”
According to an online biography, Mourad graduated from Indiana University Kokomo and began her legislative career in 1996 working for California Congressman Sonny Bono.
“Majida Mourad from Toledo, Ohio, and I are engaged,” Turner said in a statement. “We are thankful for the good wishes and support, and look forward to celebrating privately with family and friends.”
Turner, 55, has two daughters, Jessica and Carolyn, from his first marriage to Lori Turner. The two divorced in 2013.
