In a humorous Facebook post, the Walker Police Department wrote the chicken "had been terrorizing bank customers all week," at the ATM and drive-thru of a city bank before turning tail and fleeing.
Police responded to a complaint at 4 p.m. Friday, but the chicken "apparently anticipated the imminent arrival of law enforcement and fled on foot from the scene," Walker police said in the post.
Police said the bird chased customers, attempted to enter vehicles and failed to engage in proper social distancing “on a number of occasions.”
Police combed the area but were unable to find the animal.
Officials said in the Facebook post that the chicken is "wanted on charges of assault, attempted battery, attempted burglary, terrorizing and ignoring an order of the governor."
However, police said the public should avoid “confronting the fowl” and contact authorities instead.
