Charles Clark Wright, 36, of Bentonville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with a Class D felony, KFSM reported. He was released from the Benton County Jail the following day after posting a $7,500 bond, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
According to Megan Wright, she came home July 23 and found her 6-year-old Yorkie, Momo, "barely responsive" with bruising around his eye and "an abrasion to the back of his head," according to a probable cause affidavit. The dog would not stand up, according to the affidavit.
Veterinarians said Momo had a "large fracture to the back of (his) skull," slightly above his spike, KFSM reported.
According to the affidavit, Megan White called her husband, and she said he admitted he caused the injuries by smashing the dog's head against the side of the house, the Democrat-Gazette reported.
Charles Wright is due Sept. 9 in Benton County Circuit Court, KFSM reported. If convicted, Charles Wright could face up to six years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000, the television station reported.
