Officials with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are asking for the public’s help gathering information on a bald eagle that was found shot Saturday in Lawrence County.

Authorities said the eagle was initially found alive, but it later died of its wounds. In an image released by officials, the bird appeared to have been shot in the wing.

It was not immediately clear where in Lawrence County the eagle was found. Officials said a reward was being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
