An 86-year-old man driving a Ford F-150 crashed into a New Jersey home Tuesday, killing a 55-year-old bedridden woman.

A New Jersey woman confined to her bed was killed Tuesday after an 86-year-old man lost control of his truck and crashed into her home, authorities said.

Barbara Anne Fillan, 55, of Brick Township, was killed when a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by WIlliam McEvoy crashed into the building, WNBC reported.

Police said Filan was in a bed in the living room of the home when McEvoy lost control of the truck and crashed into the home around 8:48 a.m., the television station reported.

Emergency crews responded and Filan was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, WABC reported. McEvoy was also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, the television station reported.

Police are investigating whether McEvoy suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of the truck, WNBC reported.
