Boeing's newest plane took its inaugural flight Saturday after being postponed due to poor weather.

The new wide-body jet took off Saturday morning and did a quick flight before landing to huge applause at Boeing Field.

The first flight was originally scheduled for Thursday.

The company is betting big on the newest version of the jet.

Washington competed hard to build the plane in Everett, with the Legislature giving Boeing a record $8.7 billion tax break.

“This airplane to me, it’s the flagship of the airline fleets, the big airlines around the world, and it’s really the marquee airplane,” said Wendy Sowers, of Boeing. “It’s a great representation of the great things we can we do as a company.”
