Hoot, 31, was the sole country performer in the 2019 competition and a member of Team Kelly Clarkson. The crooner beat out both Rose Short of Team Gwen Stefani and Ricky Duran of Team Blake Shelton, the newspaper reported.
"I've always known he was gonna do something big," Katy O'Neal, Hoot's grandmother, told KRIS-TV earlier in the week.
According to WSMV, Hoot relocated to Tennessee at the age of 20 when he was recruited to play football for Tennessee Tech, and he began playing gigs not long after arriving.
We've known he was a winner since 2011. Congrats, Jake Hoot for winning @NBCTheVoice Season 17! #WingsUp #HootHootHoot pic.twitter.com/YhqewWpvdI

Fans eager to see Hoot's next performance can look for him to perform the National Anthem during the New Orleans Saints-Carolina Panthers Dec. 29 game, KRIS-TV reported.
