Garrett, who took over coaching "America's Team" from Wade Phillips in November 2010, was the second-longest serving coach in team history, behind only the legendary Tom Landry, the station reported.
With an 8-8 finish in 2019 – the fourth such record in Garrett's nine seasons as head coach – the Cowboys missed the playoffs, yet his overall 85-67 record with the team makes him the second-winningest coach in team history, ESPN reported.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett's message to his players today centered on giving them advice going forward, I'm told. Told them to keep creating opportunity for themselves and pouring their heart into what they do, and that good things happen to good people.

Did feel like good bye.
During his tenure, Garrett's Cowboys won their division three times but scored playoff wins only twice, KETK reported.
