Houston said she is under the advisement of an attorney and can't speak to the case. She did say she doesn't feel like she did anything wrong.
A Baptist Hospital spokeswoman said they would not speak to Houston’s employment status other than to say she was no longer an employee there.
The hospital said their issue with her stems from a series of Facebook posts.
In them, Houston asked for the public to donate baby monitors for the hospital to use to communicate with patients in isolation rooms until the hospital can get a system set up. The hospital said this caused a stir and a panic
The hospital said Houston’s statement is false, and that they have communications in place where they can speak to and monitor the patients.
On Facebook Houston also claimed that going in and out of the rooms all the time means medical staff has to switch out masks multiple times. The hospital told WHBQ-TV while they are trying to conserve personal protective equipment, there is no shortage and that the statement on Facebook is also false.
Houston said she will speak to WHBQ-TV if she can get her attorney to OK it.
Baptist Hospital said that Houston had to edit her post to clarify herself, indicating that she had caused a panic by claiming patients were not being individually monitored.
WHBQ-TV reached out to Dr. Samantha Houston's attorney and is waiting to hear back.
