Dying mom collapses on, kills 4-month-old baby during medical emergency, police say

An Arizona woman and her infant son are dead after she collapsed on the baby boy while she was experiencing a medical emergency, authorities said.

According to the Arizona Republic and KTVK, the child's father discovered Larinique Meadows, 38, and Denari Meadows, 4 months, dead in the family's Tempe home about 5 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Tempe police Detective Greg Bacon told reporters that investigators determined that the woman "had some sort of heart condition, heart episode and then passed away and fell on top of Denari," the Republic reported. Authorities also said Meadows had looked up chest pains on her phone, according to the newspaper.

Although the medical examiner has not yet released an official cause of death, officers said the boy appears to have suffocated, the Republic reported.

Investigators do not suspect foul play, according to KTVK.
