"Next year, in 2020, I'm going to go on the road and do some stand-up," he said during an interview on the podcast "Present Company," according to The Huff Post.

He also mentioned a possible return to the road during an episode of Jerry Seinfeld's Netflix show "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" in July.

“I’m going to do it again,” Murphy said, mentioning a conversation he had with the late Don Rickles about returning to stand-up.

“Everything just has to be right. You have to get up there and start working it out.”

Murphy was rumored to be in negotiations with Netflix to do a series of stand-up specials for as much as $70 million, Entertainment Weekly reported, similar to the deals comedians Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock made with the streaming service.

He's also scheduled to return to "Saturday Night Live" 35 years after he left to host the show on Dec. 21, and is starring in the Netflix biopic "Dolemite is My Name."

And that's not all. Murphy is also working on a sequel to his hit 1988 movie "Coming to America."

Eddie Murphy speaks onstage during the LA Tastemaker event for Comedians in Cars at The Paley Center for Media on July 17, 2019 in Beverly Hills City.
