According to a probable cause affidavit, Hamilton was part of a construction crew working at Wellington's water treatment facility at 7 a.m. Thursday, WPTV reported. Deputies responding to the bomb threat call determined Hamilton was the caller as they evacuated 20 people from the building, according to WPEC.
According to the affidavit, Hamilton originally told deputies he had lost his phone, but later "took full responsibility for making the bomb threat call," WPTV reported.
“Richard stated that there was no bomb and that he made the threats after having a bad day and wanting to get out of work,” the affidavit said.
Hamilton was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Friday after posting $10,000 bail, WPTV reported.
