Atlanta's WSB-TV has learned that an Eatonton, Georgia, police officer was arrested Wednesday, accused of murdering his wife.

WSB investigative reporter Mark Winne broke the news on Twitter late Wednesday night.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills told Winne he arrested Officer Michael Seth Perrault on suspicion of murder in the death of Perrault's wife.

Perrault allegedly reported her death as a suicide, according to Sills.
