The announcement was made Wednesday.
Holzhauer appeared on 32 games during his regular run and amassed $2,462,216 in winnings. Jennings still holds the title for the most money won, collecting $2,520,700 over his 74 games. They are separated by only $58,484.
Holzhauer also holds the top 10 single-game winnings with the most being $131,127 that he won April 17.
Jennings and Holzhauer are second and third when it comes to all-time winnings. Brad Rutter holds the distinction of being the champion who has taken home the most from "Jeopardy!," including tournament winnings, with a total of $4,688,436.
As for this year's Tournament of Champions, Holzhauer will face off against 14 other winners since the last Tournament of Champions, People magazine reported. One of the players will be Emma Boettcher, the librarian from Chicago who dethroned Holzhauer.
The Tournament of Champions has a grand prize of $250,000 and lasts 10 episodes that will air Nov. 4 through 15, People reported.
