The Riley County Police Department was trying to find Jessie Sexton, 33, of Manhattan, on July 25 and posted on Facebook seeking the public's help, KNST reported.
"We are attempting to perform a welfare check on Mr. Sexton after a request from family who are concerned for his safety," department officials wrote on Facebook.
Sexton wrote back, saying "I'm not missing," according to the post.
Police asked Sexton to contact them by telephone, and he did, KNST reported. The welfare check then turned to a search for Sexton because of the outstanding warrants, the television station reported.
"Tell 'em (I'm) fishing at Rocky Ford (if) they wanna talk or somethin'," Sexton wrote in a later post.
Police said they eventually received a tip as to Sexton's location and arrested him Tuesday, KNST reported. Sexton is being held in the Riley County Jail on a felony warrant for probation violation with more charges pending, the television station reported.
