Louisiana woman provides 'breakfast at the bus stop' for children

Every Wednesday morning is "breakfast at the bus stop," thanks to Caressa Williams of Shreveport, KSLA reported. Williams hands out doughnuts and other breakfast items to children living at the Cedar Creek Village Apartments, the television station reported.

Williams said her church, Summer Grove United Methodist, was looking for a way to help the community. Officials decided providing breakfast was a good way to start.

"The bus stop is a place where there's already kids, so we decided to meet them where they are and hopefully add some positivity to their morning each Wednesday," Williams told KSLA.

Williams said she interacts with 10 to 20 students and their parents every Wednesday. She said she enjoys helping children get off to a good start in the morning.

"Lives get busy and kids often are in a rush and don't get breakfast so it's an easy need that we can meet just by being present for a few minutes," Williams told KSLA.
