A Maryland man is accused of nearly beating his pregnant girlfriend to death during an assault that lasted nearly nine hours, authorities said.

Kevin Anthony Curtis, 25, of Germantown, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, false imprisonment, a third-degree sexual offense and reckless endangerment, according to Montgomery County arrest records.

Police said they were called to a home April 29 in Montgomery Village and were met by a 19-year-old woman who was holding her 2-year-old daughter and a diaper bag, WJLA reported. Police said the woman had several injuries, including a black eye, a bruised face, bite marks on one arm and one ear and strangulation marks on her neck, according to the television station.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she identified Curtis as the assailant, WJLA reported.

"Curtis was upset that after the victim tended to their two-year-old daughter, (she) did not greet (him) properly and he felt disrespected,” according to court documents.

According to court documents, Curtis ordered the victim to wash dirty dishes. Dissatisfied, Curtis allegedly shoved, slapped and punched his girlfriend of three years.

The police report stated: “The victim fell to the ground and Curtis pulled her up, began spitting on her face and hair as a sign of disrespect ... Curtis began pulling her hair, dragging her around the room."

The victim was later put into a closet and forced to perform oral sex on Curtis, WJLA reported, citing court records.

Curtis will appear in court for a preliminary hearing June 26, according to court records.
