According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, police arrested Matthew Hoisser, 35, at his Woodbury home Friday in connection with the April 30 death of Gus Christian, his infant son.

Hoisser told police that he grew frustrated while watching Gus, who had been "fussy" and "difficult," on April 24, according to Washington County court documents. Hoisser then "intentionally dropped the infant head first into the ground," the documents said.

The next day, emergency crews took Gus to a nearby hospital after he became unresponsive at day care, WCCO-TV reported. Doctors found that the boy had suffered severe head trauma, which likely would render him "permanently blind, deaf and immobile" if he survived, according to the news station. He later died.

According to Gus' autopsy, the child, who had a fractured skull, died from blunt-force trauma, the Pioneer Press reported. He also appeared to have suffered a previous head injury, the medical examiner said.

Hoisser is now in the Washington County Jail, where he is being held on $350,000 bond, authorities said.
