Rianna Marie Cameron, 29, of Rogers, is accused of delivering a child while extremely intoxicated, WCCO reported. Cameron also has two other children under the age of 3, KARE reported.
According to Hennepin County prosecutors, Cameron had a blood-alcohol content of .183 when she gave birth to a baby girl on Dec. 30, 2018, the Star-Tribune reported. The baby was born blue with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck when police arrived at 8:40 p.m., the newspaper reported.
The police were called when Cameron's fiance, who was downstairs at the couple's home, heard the woman scream and found the baby lying at her feet in the bed, the Star-Tribune reported.
Police tested Cameron less than an hour later at a hospital, and her BAC registered at .21, according to prosecutors.
According to court records, Cameron told police that she had been on a "bender" since 5 p.m., and had drunk a 1.75-liter bottle of bourbon.
According to prosecutors, Cameron knew the risks of drinking while pregnant, KARE reported. The television station reported that Cameron had been civilly committed for alcohol addiction three times since 2012.
f convicted, Cameron could serve up to 10 years in prison, WCCO reported.
