National Cupcake Day 2019: 3 deals, freebies to satisfy your sweet tooth

Looking for a sweet deal? You’re in luck.

According to the NationalDayCalendar.com, Sunday, Dec. 15, is National Cupcake Day, and several chains are celebrating the occasion with freebies and discounts.

Here are a few we’ve found:

1. Sprinkles Cupcakes

Through Dec. 15, the chain is offering a $1 discount on cupcakes for customers who retrieve a coupon code through an "augmented reality experience" in participating stores, Newsweek reported. Sprinkles also is running a contest in which 22 winners will receive "free cupcakes for a year," said the chain, which has stores in Florida; Washington, D.C.; New York; Texas; Illinois; Nevada; California; and Arizona. Click here to find a location near you.

2. Gigi's Cupcakes

Gigi's Cupcakes, which has locations in 23 states, will award one customer $100 in store credit in its National Cupcake Day contest, according to a post on the company's Instagram page. To enter, you must follow the company's Instagram account, then like the post about the contest. Next, tag three of your friends in the comments. Instagram users who share the chain's post in their Instagram stories will receive extra contest entries, the company addedClick here to find your nearest store.

3. Baked by Melissa

Even if you don't live in New York or New Jersey, where Baked by Melissa's 14 stores are located, you can take advantage of one of the chain's National Cupcake Day deals. Through Dec. 15, online customers can get a $20 discount on a 100-pack of holiday cupcakes using coupon code PARTYTIME2019, bringing the price to $100. The deal is also available to in-store patrons, Newsweek reported.
