Vindman, a National Security Council aide who testified during House impeachment proceedings that ended in acquittal for Trump on Wednesday, had already intimated to superiors at the NSC his plans to leave his post by the close of February, The Post reported.
The move to oust Vindman more quickly is expected to be portrayed by the White House as strictly NSC downsizing and not retaliation for his testimony, Bloomberg reported.
Alexander Vindman could be out of a job at the White House as soon as tomorrow morning.
