Police in Solon, Ohio, arrested a 12-year-old girl in connection with a stolen car and a wreck at an intersection on Sept. 21.

A 12-year-old Ohio girl is accused of stealing her father's car, crashing it at an intersection and later handed over a 7-inch knife to police, authorities said.

According to Solon police, the girl, who lives in Moreland Hills, took her father's car without permission and crashed it Sept. 12 at 12:30 a.m., WJW reported.

Police investigating the crash found the car abandoned, the television station reported. They soon found the girl walking nearby, and she identified herself as a 13-year-old who had argued with her mother and had taken an Uber to her location, WKYC reported.

However, the girl later admitted she was 12 and had taken her father's car without his permission, the television station reported. She was 5.5 miles from her home when police stopped her.

Police body camera video showed the girl pull a 7-inch kitchen knife from her pants and give it to one of the officers, WJW reported.

Police arrested the girl, who faces charges related to curfew, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon, the television station reported.

The girl was later released to her parents.
