No one was hurt Friday when a gun brought to an Alabama elementary school by a first-grader discharged in the boy’s pocket, authorities said.

The incident occurred at J.E. Hobbs Elementary School in Camden, AL.com reported. According to Wilcox County Schools Superintendent Andre Saulsberry, the gun discharged in the boy's pocket, putting a hole in a wall, the website reported.

The school was placed on lockdown while authorities investigated, WKRG reported. The Camden Police Department, the Wilcox County Department of Human Resources and Saulsberry were contacted immediately, AL.com reported.

Wilcox County District Attorney Michael Jackson told AL.com the student's parents are being charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is a misdemeanor.
