Five members of a Wisconsin family were fatally shot in a Milwaukee home Monday morning, authorities said.

The victims were between the ages of 14 and 41, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales said at a news conference. The shooting occurred in the north part of the city around 10:47 a.m., the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

Morales said a man called police to say "his family was dead," WISN-TV reported. The man who called was arrested at the scene and a weapon was recovered, the television station reported.

It is not clear what led to the shooting, according to WISN.

Two police sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Journal Sentinel the shooting was being investigated as a possible domestic incident.

A spokesman for the Milwaukee Police Department did not immediately respond to an email seeking additional information, the newspaper reported.
