If you’re looking for Old Town Road in Wellesley, Massachusetts, you might have some trouble.

People have been stealing the street signs from a residential road with the same name as Lil Nas X's No. 1 hit, according to town officials.

The sign has disappeared three times, authorities said on the city's website.

While Wellesley has seemingly found humor in the situation, the town noted that the thefts are serious and costly.

“Each time the signs go missing, replacement costs can add up to $280, not including installation labor,” the city wrote. “First responders often rely on the street signs in emergencies and missing signs could delay response times.”

The street sign posts are currently empty. The city said the Department of Public Works has decided to wait "for the song's popularity to fade before replacing the signs again."

The rapper's tune first ignited controversy when, after debuting at No. 19 on the Hot Country Songs chart, Billboard removed it in March, deeming it more of a rap song a than country song.

The track has now broken several records. It just notched its 19th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 – the longest run for any artist this year.
