Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Department were patrolling early Monday when "they had to do a double take" after spotting someone "resembling President Trump slashing tires and breaking the windshield of a parked vehicle," according to a statement from the OCSD.
The suspect was identified as Rory Zimmerman, 56, The Orange County Register reported. In addition to the Trump mask, Zimmerman was wearing body armor, Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. Deputies found a loaded handgun, an airsoft shotgun and a helmet in his vehicle, which had fake license plates, Braun said.
Zimmerman was arrested on a possible felony vandalism charge. His bail was set at $100,000.
Zimmerman used to work in the area where he was arrested, employees at businesses in the area told KTLA-TV.
