Anthony Liston, 30, of Velda City, was charged with two counts of murder, KMOV reported. He also was charged with three counts of armed criminal action, two counts of assault, two counts of attempted robbery and one count each of tampering with a motor vehicle and property damage in St. Louis Circuit Court, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He also was charged Friday with unlawful use of a weapon — shooting from a motor vehicle, first-degree assault and armed criminal action in St. Louis County Circuit Court, the newspaper reported.
According to charging documents, Liston is accused of fatally shooting Lisa Georgieff, 39, in the chest and Kara Bell, 34, in the head and groin Thursday, the Post-Dispatch reported. Liston also hit a man in the face with his rifle, police said as they detailed a carjacking and shooting crime spree, the newspaper reported.
Liston fired a shot into the rear of a woman's vehicle in a suburban parking lot, the Post-Dispatch reported. He then drove into St. Louis, where he shot a woman in the leg at a gas station, the newspaper reported.
Liston then drove to the apartment where Georgieff and Bell lived, kicked in the door and fatally shot them, KTVI reported.
Liston left and drove to a parking lot, where police said he attempted to enter two vehicles, KMOV reported. Workers nearby were able to subdue Liston until police arrived, the television station reported.
Police said Liston admitted to shooting Georgieff and Bell because "he had never felt welcome there," KMOV reported.
