Darrell Homer Desrosiers, 47, was arrested Sunday for felony first-degree arson related to the unlicensed manufacture of "cannabinoid extract," The Portland Tribune reported, citing court records.
The explosion happened around 10:40 a.m. March 28, according to Portland Fire & Rescue. Only Desrosiers was injured in the explosion. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. His apartment was severely damaged, The Oregonian reported.
Arson investigators determined Desrosiers was unlawfully using liquid butane to make heavily concentrated marijuana products, according to the Tribune.
Butane explosions can be deadly, Portland Fire & Rescue said. A similar explosion killed two men operating a marijuana lab out of a North Portland home on July 24, 2017, the Tribune reported.
