Terrelle Pryor, woman charged after stabbing inside Pittsburgh apartment

Police have arrested two people, including free agent NFL wide receiver and quarterback Terrelle Pryor, after Pryor was stabbed in Pittsburgh, according to the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office.

Update 5:31 p.m. EDT Nov. 30: Pryor, 30, reportedly underwent surgery after a dispute inside his Heinz Lofts apartment. 

According to a news release from Pittsburgh police, Shalaya Briston was also injured during the dispute early Saturday morning.

Police said Pryor walked into UPMC Mercy with stab wounds around 4:30 a.m. and was initially listed in critical condition.

After an initial investigation, police arrested Briston, 24, and Pryor in connection with the altercation. Briston is being charged with criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault, while Pryor is being charged with simple assault.

Pryor's agent said he is in stable condition after undergoing surgery and is expected to be OK.

Pryor was stabbed in the chest and shoulder and was in critical condition, ESPN reported, citing an anonymous source.

Pryor, 30, was a standout high school football player in his hometown of Jeannette, Pennsylvania. He played collegiately at Ohio State and was drafted in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft by the Oakland Raiders.

The 6-foot-4 player was seventh in the NFL in 2016 in total yards while playing for the Cleveland Browns. His best season as a receiver, he caught 78 passes for 1,049 yards that year. Since that time, he's been dealing with various injuries before he was released ahead of this season by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Pryor played three years at quarterback for the Raiders and then went to the Browns in 2015, where he played wide receiver for two seasons. Pryor also played for the Washington Redskins, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
