While answering questions from reporters, the 76-year-old rocker expressed frustration over the administration’s policy changes over the past three years.
"We're in a very difficult situation at the moment, especially in the U.S., where all the environmental controls that were put in place that were perhaps just about adequate, say for the last 10 years, are being rolled back by the current administration so much that they're all being wiped out," he said, according to The Huff Post.
“The U.S., which should be the world leader in environmental control, has lost that and has decided to go the other way,” Jagger said.
The Trump administration announced last week plans to relax the limit on methane discharges by oil and gas companies and a rollback on requirements for energy efficient lightbulbs that was supposed to take effect next year, just the latest moves to undo U.S. environmental policies dating back years.
Trump also announced plans in June 2017 to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement, a convention that for the first time brought most of the world's nations together to battle global warming.

Several hundred young climate activists were also at the Venice Film Festival, the Post reported, and Jagger said he “absolutely” supported them.
“I’m glad people feel so strongly about it they want to protest anywhere, whether it’s a red carpet or in another place. So, yeah, I’m absolutely behind that.”
