The petition asks that the change happens for the 2021 Super Bowl, and apparently more than 30,000 people agree with Ruggeri.

Supporters suggested on the petition that if it can't be moved to Saturday, then move kickoff to earlier in the day or make Super Bowl Monday a holiday.
Ruggeri and those who think like him may be on to something. A recent survey by the Workforce Institute found that more than 17 million workers were expected to miss work the day after the 2019 Super Bowl.
Despite the apparent support for the change, there’s one person who has said no -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
In the past, Goodell has said no to the change because of television ratings, CBS Sports reported.
"That [idea] has been around for a long time, people have talked about that," Goodell said in 2018 according to CBS Sports. "The reason we haven't done it in the past is simply just from an audience standpoint. The audiences Sunday night are so much larger. Fans want to have the best opportunity to be able to see the game and we want to give that to them, so Sunday night is a better night."
