According to KTVT, authorities have identified the pilot as Gabriel Hatton, 17, of McKinney, Texas.

A preliminary Federal Aviation Administration report indicates Hatton was the sole occupant of the two-seater Cessna 150 when it crashed about 140 miles northwest of Little Rock, Ark., KHBS reported. No other injuries were reported on the ground.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said a deputy located the downed plane just after 11 p.m. Monday, less than three hours after the department received a 9-1-1 call from a resident reporting he witnessed the crash.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
