Unidentified sources told ABC News that Manafort was stable Tuesday and could soon be released from the hospital.
Last year, Manafort’s attorneys said he suffered gout for several months that was at times severe enough to require that he use a wheelchair
Manafort was sentenced in March to serve 7 1/2 years in prison after he was convicted of conspiring against the United States, conspiring to launder money, and bank and tax fraud charges connected to lobbying work he did for pro-Russia forces in Ukraine. The charges brought against Manafort did not touch on work he did for Trump.
He’s been imprisoned at Pennsylvania’s Federal Correctional Institution, Loretto, with an expected release date of Christmas 2024, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
