A police K-9 officer was a special visitor Wednesday at Georgia hospital.

Leon visited his partner Officer Webb Sistrunk as he recovers from being shot in the right shoulder over the weekend, AL.com reported.

Sistrunk had been in the Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit but was upgraded to the critical care area, according to AL.com.

Another officer was shot and killed Sunday.
Leon was with his partner and three other officers when they responded to the call of a woman who said her live-in boyfriend allegedly assaulted her and threatened to killer her, Al.com reported.

Police said Grady Wayne Wilkes was at the home when Sistrunk, accompanied by William Buechner and Evan Elliott and one other officer went to the house. They knocked, and they said Wilkes answered wearing armor, armed with a rifle, and opened fire, police said, according to The Associated Press.

Buechner was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
