Watch: Man drags woman across Philadelphia sidewalk in robbery attempt

Police said at 10:15 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was walking on a Philadelphia street when a man approached her from behind and tried to take her backpack, the television station reported.

When the woman resisted, the man began dragging the woman across the sidewalk, Philadelphia police officials said. The man fled when the woman screamed, KYW reported. He did not take anything from the woman, the television station reported.

The man suspected of the assault was described by police as a black man, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a long beard, police said. Police said he was between 20 and 30 years old and was wearing a white T-shirt.
