Special guest Will Ferrell crashed today's virtual team meeting. 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/LQArLdfmbw
“We’ve got some new football players. We’ve got some guys that have joined our team and it would be just wrong if we didn’t welcome thing in right?” Carroll asked coaches and players on the video call.
Carroll then said he wanted Olsen to “tell the fellas what you’re all about.” But instead of showing Olsen on camera, it was Ferrell – wearing a 12 Seahawks jersey.
“Coach thanks so much, so excited to be here. So excited to be a Seahawk and excited to play with you (Russell Wilson) I love you,” Ferrell said. Watch the full exchange below:
Carroll and Ferrell's relationship goes back Carroll's years at the head coach at USC. Ferrell has gone to a number of Seahawks games in years past and even crashed Carroll's appearance at USC in 2014.
The Seahawks signed Olsen in February. Originally a first-round pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2007 Draft, Olsen had played for the Carolina Panthers since 2011.
Olsen started 14 games for the Panthers last year, finishing with 52 catches for 597 yards and two touchdowns.
