The woman was a passenger in the front seat of the truck when the shooting occurred, according to KOCO-TV.
The vehicle was stopped at a railroad crossing when the dog leaped from the back seat into the front seat, landing on the console on top of the driver’s gun.

The loaded gun discharged, striking the woman in her thigh, KOCO reported.
Police said the evidence at the scene matched both the driver’s and the passenger’s descriptions of the incident.
The woman received treatment at a local hospital.
