The victim was taking skyline photos from the roof with friends around 8 p.m. when she lost her balance, plunging off the building in the Kips Bay neighborhood and landing in a small outdoor space, according to WNBC-TV.

The woman, identified as Reilly Hamilton, suffered severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis, broken ankle and broken arm, WNBC reported. She was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Hamilton is the latest in a string of falls, many deadly, involving people trying to take selfies from dangerous locations.

Briar Cliff University student Andrea Norton, 20, died in a fall from a cliff in an Arkansas state park last month as she was trying to position herself in a group photo.

Fordham University student Sydney Monfries, 22, also died last month after falling more than 30 feet from a landing in the college's off-limits clock tower after taking photos of the Bronx skyline with friends on the tower's roof.
