Kalesha Peterson, 37, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, second-degree assault and second-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old David Dalton, KRCG-TV reported.

Peterson was arrested after the incident March 7, according to KMIZ-TV.

Peterson told Fulton police that she and her boyfriend had been drinking alcohol and watching a movie, when she suggested the two play out a scene in a movie that involved a gun, NBC News reported. She allegedly retrieved a Taurus .38 caliber revolver from her bedroom to act out the scene.

While Peterson was holding the gun, it "discharged" and struck Dalton in the head, NBC News reported. Emergency personnel tried to treat Dalton but eventually declared him dead.

Peterson is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 15.

Before her arrest Peterson worked as a licensed practical nurse, KCRG-TV reported.
