According to the Houston Chronicle, LaPorsha Washington, 30, was driving out of the Harris County store's parking lot with her four children when a man inside a red truck started shooting into their car, then fled, deputies said.
Washington's daughter, Jazmine Barnes, 7, was shot and killed, the Chronicle reported. Washington suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, and a 6-year-old child also was hurt, the newspaper said. The extent of the second child's injuries was not immediately clear.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the suspected shooter as a white man in his 40s with a beard.
Please keep this family in your prayers. A total of 5 occupants in the car witnessed this innocent child, their loved one, shot and killed before their eyes. So senseless. It’s never easy, and extra hard during the holiday season.
